With accelerating development, international hotel partnerships and a maturing community, the recent unveiling of Al Zorah’s multi-million-dollar clubhouse marks a defining moment in the evolution of the club and the city around it.
Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club sits within the wider master plan of Al Zorah City – a premium coastal development in Ajman, UAE, built around protected mangroves, luxury residences and internationally branded hospitality. The ambition was to create a clubhouse worthy of that broader vision.
As the city evolves, the club needed to sit confidently within it – not as a standalone facility, but as an integral part of a destination being shaped for long-term quality and distinction. This was never simply a facility upgrade. It was about creating a permanent anchor for the community – a place that unites golf, leisure and hospitality in one coherent environment.
In competitive markets, infrastructure signals belief. This investment reinforces that Al Zorah is being built with long-term intent and premium positioning.
What surprised me most was how quickly behaviour shifted. People now stay longer, bring families and incorporate the club into their weekly routines.

Upscaling the club experience
The experience has evolved in both scale and intent. From arrival, there’s a clear sense of theatre and hospitality – valet parking, a personal welcome and an environment designed to feel calm and assured.
The journey through the building is intuitive, from the locker room to the 1st tee and then naturally onto the terrace.
But the experience doesn’t stop there. On the course, our player butlers manage pace, service and detail, ensuring the standard set inside the clubhouse carries through the round itself.
More importantly, people now stay longer. They dine, use the leisure facilities and engage beyond the game.
Our partnership with 59club reinforces discipline behind that journey, providing objective benchmarking across every touchpoint.
The difference isn’t one dramatic feature – it’s the accumulation of many considered details, delivered consistently.
Increased commercial value
It’s extremely important – though not purely in financial terms. A clubhouse within a master-planned community cannot revolve solely around tee times. Dining, private events and corporate gatherings generate sustained activity, while the gym, pool and tennis facilities create daily engagement. Families connect with the club in different ways, strengthening the overall ecosystem. Golf remains the anchor, but the clubhouse gives it depth. When a place feels active throughout the week, commercial strength follows naturally.
Changing behaviours
The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Members speak about pride. They feel the club now reflects its surroundings and its ambition. Visitors talk less about the architecture and more about the atmosphere – how comfortable and well-run it feels.
What surprised me most was how quickly behaviour shifted. People now stay longer, bring families and incorporate the club into their weekly routines.
It has strengthened the value of belonging here and reinforced what membership represents. This wasn’t just an upgrade – it was a recalibration of how the club lives within the community.
The rise in expectation
When you build at this level, the standard rises immediately. The environment makes a promise – delivering on it every day is the real challenge. We invested heavily in people, recruiting internationally and integrating hotel-trained professionals who understand anticipation, structure and service language. Golf operations and luxury hospitality are distinct disciplines and blending them has elevated consistency. Operating within the Troon network provides global benchmarking, while 59club reinforces accountability. The building sets the tone. The team delivers the experience.
“In competitive markets, infrastructure signals belief. This investment reinforces that Al Zorah is being built with long-term intent and premium positioning”
“Be clear about your purpose. If a clubhouse is driven by ego or comparison, it won’t endure. It must serve a long-term strategy and anticipate rising expectations.”
The evolution of the region as a leisure destination
This investment is about timing. The region has moved beyond proving it can host golf. The focus now is on the depth and quality of the experience.
Al Zorah continues to evolve within Ajman, offering a coastal alternative to more established urban golf hubs, supported by accelerating residential growth and an expanding hospitality landscape.
The agreement with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts to operate Al Zorah Beach Resort reflects confidence in that trajectory.
Destination golf today is about how the entire visit feels. International travellers compare experiences across continents, and we wanted to ensure what they experience at Al Zorah stands confidently alongside established global destinations.
Creating a lifestyle-led model
Golf remains the foundation, but modern members seek broader engagement. The strongest clubs are community platforms first and sports venues second.
At Al Zorah, members use the gym before work, families gather around the pool and tennis brings a different rhythm to the week. Our membership model protects the integrity of the golf experience while embracing that wider lifestyle. We haven’t diluted the sport – we’ve strengthened the environment around it.
“Construction is the straightforward part. The real work begins after opening. A new building amplifies who you already are. If culture and leadership aren’t strong before you build, the building won’t fix that – it will expose it.”
A strengthening of culture
The new clubhouse positions us with confidence and coherence. The course, clubhouse and surrounding protected mangrove ecosystem now feel aligned.
Few clubs operate within a coastal environment of this ecological scale, and that setting shapes the experience in a distinctive way. Globally, what resonates isn’t noise – it’s consistency.
Discerning golfers compare experiences across continents and recognise when a place feels complete. Our focus is refinement: strengthening culture, maintaining standards and protecting the environment. In our experience, recognition follows consistency – not noise.
Sustainability truly defines the club. We operate within a protected mangrove ecosystem, home to more than 220 bird species, and we manage six active beehives with over 120,000 bees on site. Sustainability isn’t decorative – it establishes our operating boundaries.
Our beehive programme, developed in collaboration with Rolls-Royce, reflects the belief that premium experiences and long-term stewardship must coexist.
What makes this place exceptional isn’t only the facilities; it’s the stillness, the wildlife and the sense of space. If we protect that environment, we protect everything.
