In collaboration with the Women in Golf Awards, 59club are inviting the industry to take part in a global study focussing on women’s experiences in the golf industry. The Fairways Project will take place over 5 years and is open to men and women in any sector and at any stage of their careers. Participants will be asked to complete two 10-minute surveys annually to contribute to one of the largest research studies of its kind.
“We hope that the insights we capture will provide golf with the tools to benchmark progress, inform decisions, and ultimately shape a stronger and more inclusive future for the game,” explains Sarah Jane Shepherd, from 59club. "This is such an important project. We know that the golf industry wants to embrace the talent of women at every level and we have the means to enable that.”
The project will harness 59club’s advanced survey software, analytics, and training provision to deliver a clear picture of women’s experiences in golf — from opportunities and challenges to aspirations and leadership pathways. Interested parties are being asked to sign up here to receive the Getting to Know Survey in March before the first main survey is released in May this year.
“Men’s involvement is paramount to the success of all of our projects.,” explains founder of the Women in Golf Awards Nicole Wheatley. “Like everything we do, the Fairways Project is for the wider golf community. We want to improve the industry’s culture, help companies make better provision for women and understand how to hire and retain female talent. To do that, men’s and women’s experiences need to lead the conversation.”
For the opportunity to take part in the study, women and men in the golf industry worldwide should register their details here. To hear more about the project and partnership between 59club and Women in Golf Awards, listen to the National Club Golfer podcast here.
